Lillian Carol Johnson, age 89, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her home on September
16th , 2023 with her family by her side. Lillian battled pancreatic cancer for a year and a half. She was
born in Spirit, Wisconsin on November 11, 1933, the beloved daughter of Adolph and Lena (Jorgensen)
Johnson.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband of almost 72 years, Gordon Johnson; her children Lance (Judy)
Johnson, Lanette (Norm) Koors, Shayne (Tammy) Johnson, Shaynette (Richard II) Baxter; her
grandchildren, Millena (Brian) Bauer, Jamie (Eric Dahl) De Keyser, Ashley (Kyle) Walters, Richard III
(Emily) Baxter, Danny Baxter; her great-grandchildren Dylan, Allison, Carter, Sawyer, Talyn, Aubrey and
Beau.
Lillian was proceeded in death by her parents, all 11 of her siblings, Brother-in-law Eugene Johnson,
Sisters-in-law Kathy Johnson and Janet Kring and granddaughter Crista Schmidli.
Lillian loved sitting in their backyard in the summertime, spending time with friends and family, getting
her nails done with her daughters, winning the shake of the day, going to the casino to play the slots
with her husband and daughter Shaynette. She also enjoyed visiting all of their friends at Dick & Joan’s
Supperclub and The Bar. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing cards with friends and neighbors,
camping and traveling.
Lillian will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Thank you to Shanice with ThedaCare Hospice and all of the wonderful gals with Moments Hospice for
taking such great care of Lillian. In addition, a special thank you goes out to Lillian’s daughters, Lanette
and Shaynette, for the countless hours they spent taking care of their mother. Because of their love and
devotion, Lillian was able to spend her last days in the comfort of her home.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date for close friends and family.
