Marie Anna Hoes

Marie Anna (Lemmens) Hoes passed away on March 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 25, 1919 in the town of Buchanan to the late Martin and Elizabeth (Dercks/Derckes) Lemmens. She married the late Andrew William Hoes on June 3, 1941 in Black Creek.

Marie (Mickey) worked at St. Vincent Hospital, Kroll's East, and the Bellevue Laundromat while she and Andy raised 4 children. She achieved so much in her life but if you ask her children what they admired most, it would be the 11 years that with love, dedication, and determination; she selflessly cared for her husband Andy, who was stricken with Alzheimer's and then cancer. She promised dad he could stay home to the end and she kept her promise!

Mom you will be sadly missed and forever loved by your son Jim (Julie) Hoes, daughters Jean (Vern) Nussbaum, Joan (Marion/Junior) Doxtator-Robinson, and Jane Molzahn; your grandchildren Mark (Teresa) Nussbaum, Monica (Dave) Smithson, Laura Benesh, Sheila Molzahn, Scott Doxtator, and Jason (Rachael) Doxtator; and your great grandchildren Drew and Luke Nussbaum, Summer Smithson, Destiny Benesh, Nicole, Jonathan, Gavin, Seth, and Walker Doxtator; brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends.

Mom wanted a Special Thank You to Sister Helen for her sincere friendship, frequent visits, and spiritual guidance; to St. Philips Parish for all the masses and prayers throughout her life; to Dr. Peter Fergus MD, and to Hailey and mom's numerous helpers from Unity's Palliative and Hospice programs and the Unity Jack and Engrid Meng Residence.

A Special Thank You to Joan and Junior for opening up your hearts and home so mom could live out her years "at home with family".

Per her wishes, a funeral service will be held at a later date and she will be laid to rest at the Allouez Catholic cemetery, beside her husband Andrew and near her grandaughter Mary Nussbaum.
