Mark David Smith

Mark David Smith. Born Nov. 23, 1957, Mark passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2015. Age 58. Mark was raised in Hartland, WI and had a hobby for every season. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outdoors. Just being with nature and walking our land made him happy. Of course catching the “big one” that always got away was a thrill for him too. When cancer robbed Mark of his ability to do the physical things he loved, it never robbed him of his spirit. He rediscovered his passion for painting, and many friends and family now have an original Mark Smith painting. Mark’s gift of gab and dry sense of humor put anyone he met at ease.

Mark was preceded in death by his father John and infant daughter Sandra Marie.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Barb (nee Hencik) of DePere, WI, beloved daughter Dr. Stacey McDonald (Michael) of DePere, WI, mother Lois Smith of Hartland, WI, sisters Susan Pedersen (Christian) of Denmark and Linda Caldwell (Harry) of Sandia Park, NM. He is also survived by many other family and friends.

We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice for all the care and compassion they gave to Mark and myself during Mark’s most courageous fight. We also would like to thank the friends and family who helped out wherever needed to make life more comfortable for Mark and myself. Mark will be truly missed by all who knew him and will forever be in our hearts. Simply Cremation, Green Bay is caring for the family.
