Marlin Edward Hudson, 90, Sheboygan Falls, died at home, Monday, September 21, 2015. Born in Luverne, MN June 14, 1925, he is the son of the late Edwin and Grace (Walker) Hudson. Marlin served in the United States Army during World War II as a motor messenger at the Battle of the Bulge, and also served during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and UW-Oshkosh and then attained his Master’s Degree at Antioch College, Ohio. He married the former Diane DeWitt on October 6, 1951, in Sheboygan. Marlin retired from teaching at Farnsworth Middle School, Sheboygan in 1985. He enjoyed innovative raised bed organic gardening, golfing, and was a Packer fan. Marlin enjoyed going for rides through the rolling hills of Wisconsin, especially the Kettle Moraine area. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Sheboygan, was an elder, and Sunday School Teacher.
Marlin is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Dirk (Tami) Hudson, Mark (special friend, Linda), Amy Clemens, Lisa (David) Bunke, Sara (Mark) Watkins, Eric (Carmon) Hudson; AFS son, Toon VanZundert; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Gage Hudson; son-in-law, Michael Clemens; sister, Delores Dunn; brother-in-law, Peter DeWitt; and friend, Jamie Tolman.
Visitation at First Presbyterian Church, 1429 North 5th Street, Sheboygan, Tuesday (9/29) from 12 (NOON) until the time of the memorial service at 1:30 PM with Rev. Richard Manny officiating. Simply Cremation, Green Bay is caring for the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be available during visitation in Marlin’s name.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Schleevogt and nurse, Lisa, as well as the care providers at Progressive Care Center and Sharon Richardson Hospice for all their compassionate care.
