Mary T. Gehm

October 31, 1947 — January 3, 2025

Mary Gehm, 77, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mary was born on October 31, 1947, in Green Bay, WI, to the late Clifton (Bud) and Amanda Remmel. She is survived by her brother Randolf and was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Charlene, and her niece Sara.

Mary was a graduate of Preble Highschool in Green Bay, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from UW Whitewater, and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from St. Norbert College. It was Mary’s life work to help children with speech and learning disabilities, she taught all around the state of Wisconsin.

Mary and Mike Gehm were married on August 19th 1967, in Green Bay, they spent several years together moving for school or work, and eventually settled in Door County, WI. Together they made the move to Door County to open a Christmas tree farm, where Mary spent her summers shaping trees and young kids’ futures working on the farm.

Mary’s hobbies and interests included, but were not limited to gardening, flower art, poetry, reading, and above all else spending time with friends and family. Mary was also a fantastic baker, she especially liked to bake birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren. Mary found joy in being outside and working in her garden, she also became a Master Gardener, and through her love for flowers she became a pressed flower artist.

Mary is survived by her husband Mike Gehm, her two children: daughter Kriss (Russ) Kallin, and son Mike (Rhonda) Gehm, and her eight grandchildren: Hunter, Bailey, Alyssa, Taylor, Nick, Lukas, Andrew, Caden, and her great granddaughter Briella.

Special thank you to the staff at Coretta Memory Care, for all the kindness and compassion they showed Mary.

Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
