Mary Johnston

January 6, 1949 — August 4, 2024

Mary Johnston, 75, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly due to a short illness on August 4, 2024 and was surrounded by her family when she passed.

Mary was born in Schweinfurt Germany on January 6, 1949 to the late John and Christine (Schmitt) Sloan. Mary came to the United States at the age of 2, and grew up in Summit Township Pennsylvania and graduated from Fort Leboeuf High School before moving to Green Bay WI with her husband Alan Johnston.

Mary enjoyed camping in Crandon and fishing with her daughter Kim, taking many vacations each year to Pennsylvania to visit with family, Texas to visit her close friend Leonard and Colorado to visit her son Jeff. Having lunch get togethers with her close friends, and occasionally going to the casino was just a few of her favorite pastime activities. Mary never missed a soccer game that her granddaughters played in and loved to babysit the "girls". Mary also volunteered her time at the VA Hospital. Mary's pride and Joy were her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children Kim (Jay) Johnston of Seymour, Jeff Johnston of Pueblo Colorado, her granddaughters Miranda (Vincent) Kulow, Brittany (Matt) Kulow, Brooke (Danny) Smits all of Green Bay, WI and grandson Sean Johnston of Colorado Springs CO, her great grandson Jaymeson Cornelius, and great granddaughters Alessa and Isabelle Lopez and her siblings Daniel (Denise) Sloan of Edinboro PA, Margaret (Craig) Niles of Edinboro PA and Patrick (Grace) Sloan of Erie PA, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much, and also her close friend Leonard Glassman of Lubbock, TX.
