It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Beth Maciejczak, 73 of Green Bay, announces her passing. Mary passed peacefully surrounded by family, and was greatly loved by all that knew her.
Mary Beth was born November 27th 1950 in Styles, Wisconsin to parents Lorraine (Bartz) and James Carey, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Southwest High School in Green Bay, and attended UW Oshkosh for 1.5 years. Mary Beth eventually met her future husband, Bruce Maciejczak, while working at Thew's Supply.
Mary Beth was always fascinated by the medical field, and spent most of her career working in claims and as a trainer for Humana Health Insurance, and finished her career providing supportive care to others through Home Instead. Her compassionate nature made caring for others natural to her, and she brought so many people comfort and companionship. She was a true gem.
Mary Beth was a warm and kind person, a loving and patient mother, and a cherished wife, sister, and friend. She had the best sense of humor and always knew how to make someone smile. Some of her favorite activities were doing puzzles, particularly sudoku, kenken, and cryptograms, as well as other variety puzzles, sitting outside under the gazebo admiring her roses and many other flowers, and watching her favorite game shows. Mary Beth was an avid reader, and devoured books! She especially enjoyed James Patterson. Emerald green was her favorite color, which was very suiting, as she was proud of her Irish heritage. During the summer, she always looked forward to the family vacation up at the lake, where she would float on the water until her hearts content. Above all, however, what she loved most was spending time with her family. Mary Beth was selfless and caring, always putting their needs first, giving the best hugs and providing so much love. She filled life with a great and warm light, and without her, the world will forever be a little dimmer.
Mary Beth is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; her daughters Andrea (Charlie) Pomasl and Tammy (Alex); sisters Sandy O'Neill, Judy (Peter) Sytsma, and June Brown; brothers James (Marleen) Carey, Randy (Val) Carey, and Bob (Julie) Carey; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, and 2 Grand-puppies. Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents Lorriane (Bartz) and James Carey; mother and father-in-laws Delores (Fye) and Andrew Maciejczak; sister Carol Evrard; brother-in-laws Rick O'Neill, Tom Evrard, and Rick Boyce.
The family of Mary Beth would like to than the amazing nurses and doctors in the ICU, IMCU, and hospice at St. Vincent's Hospital, as well as Unity, who gave her great care and compassion and made her as comfortable as they could during her stay there.
A celebration of life will be held in May 2025 and announced to family and friends.
