Mathilda (Tillie) Goeke

Mathilda (Tillie) Goeke, longtime resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 in Manitowoc at the age of 96.

Tillie was born to the late Otto and Ella (Krueger) Lohse in Manitowoc on October 28th, 1927. Tillie married Don on April 18th, 1951,52 & 53. They were married 3 years in a row because of living in different states. In her life she enjoyed raising her children with Don, going boating, going for motorcycle rides, spending time outdoors, planting flowers and plants, watching wildlife, spending time with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and going for scenic car rides with her husband, son and granddaughter Malynnda. She also loved all of her pets she had throughout her life and enjoyed the time she got to spend with her “great grand dog” Katie over the last few years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Goeke Sr., her parents Otto and Ella Lohse, her brother Martin Lohse and two great grandchildren: Rachel Mal and Samuel James. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Robert) Zipperer, son Donald (Jeanmarie) Goeke Jr.; grandchildren: Kurt, Kari, Erica, Ryan, Danielle, Donald III and Malynnda “Windy”; great grandchildren: Acacia, Keegan, Drayk, Kiara, Cameron, Deena and Rilee.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place and burial of Tillie’s cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
