Michael Barrett

November 11, 1971 — November 11, 2024

It is with great sadness that I announce the unexpected loss of my uncle Michael Lee Barrett on November 11th, 2024. He was 53 years young, when he joined his parents in eternal peace.

Michael was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on November 11th, 1971 to the late Donald and LaVerne Barrett (Rabas). He attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School, and Preble High School.

Early in adulthood he exhibited an interest for carpentry. Under the wing of his father Don (Red), a seasoned artisan himself and pioneer employee of Valley Cabinet. Mike joined the team and started mastering his skills, excelling in cabinetry as well as design and install.

Continuing his journey he took a position with Heritage Woodworks, where he spent 21 successful years. Mike achieved Master Carpenter and Lead Installer titles during his employment. His work still admired in countless showcase homes and businesses in our community. He filled his cup by contributing to the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes, and was a recipient of the Golden Hammer Award for his efforts.

Though he will be remembered for his meticulous attention to detail, and imaginative design process, he was still a kid at heart. He thoroughly enjoyed customizing his Chevy trucks, as well as zooming the mini r/c versions around in his free time.

Mike was always up for an adventurous drive or new experience with his loved ones. He particularly enjoyed the outdoors. A day out charter fishing on Lake Michigan with buddies, or a long, reflective hike through the woods were among his favorites.

Michael was proceeded in death by his parents Don and LaVerne. His Grandparents as well as many aunts and uncles.

He is survived and missed dearly by his siblings, Dan Barrett & Dawn Barrett. Nieces Ashley Kersten & McKenzie Barrett, Nephews Jason Holz, Jacob & Hunter Sanders as well as his great niece Camryn Becker. Mike & Kathy Koslowski and the whole Heritage WoodWorks Family. Along with many other family members and friends.

Uncle Mike, Your life was a blessing your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

As a respect to Michael’s wishes we will not be holding a service. His celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Thank you to Matthew Malcore and Staff for your heartfelt navigation and guidance.
