Michael "Mike" Stache

August 27, 1945 — June 25, 2024

Michael “Mike” Stache Sr., 78, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. Mike was a fighter and fought a courageous battle with his health for many years.

Mike was the life of the party. He always found pleasure in making people laugh and smile. If you were lucky enough to have spent any time around him, you know he always had a new joke that he had to share, even if it was one you heard 100x before. Up until the end he always found pleasure in charming the nurses and making them smile and blush.

Mike was born in Green Bay on August 27, 1945, to Helen and Randall Stache. He was the eldest of 3 children. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1963 and shortly after enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent the next 4 years.

During his time in the Air Force Mike was stationed all over the US and was honorably discharged in 1967 in Antigo, WI.

He met and married his long-time wife, Connie Stache, in November 1966, in Antigo. They went on to have 2 children, Michael Jr and Steven Stache. He then moved his family to Green Bay, and he spent the next 27 years as a Welder at KI.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his brother Pat Stache (Barbara); sister Randee Maltby; children, Michael Stache Jr, Steven (Jean) Stache; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Unity Hospice and Bellin Cardiology. And a special thanks to Pastor Juan Alicea and his wife for their never-ending support through this difficult time.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 13 at the Oneida Apostolic Church at 118 West Meadow Drive in Oneida, WI. Visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM with the service to follow at 11 AM. Military honors to follow the service.
