Nancy "Teach" Lee (Van Erem) Barry, age 86. Nancy was born September 25th, 1935. She lived her early years in Sobieski, WI. Nancy passed away in her sleep May 31st, 2022. In the last years she was living with dementia, she suffered a bad fall, and it was too much for her to recover from.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jacob and Hazel Van Erem, her son, Jeffrey Allan Barry, one brother Dale Van Erem, one sister Phyllis (Van Erem) Wendricks.
Survived by her daughter; Kim (Barry) Bolzenthal, grandson Josh Bolzenthal, 2 sisters, Rebecca (Wayne) Leiterman, Carol (Harvey) Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews and longtime family friend Joann Beauleau.
Thank you to the staff at Autumn's Promise for the wonderful care they gave her. Especially Wendy and Nicole, her office buddies. Thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for the care given in her last months. All of you made her last days better.
Nancy was a teacher for 40 years, After getting her teaching certificate at Marinette County Teachers College, she started out teaching in a one room school house in Anston. After finishing her Bachelor Degree in teaching, she taught many of those years in the Howard - Suamico School District. She was well known for her green thumb, she won awards for her Violets and Orchids. She was written up in the Press Gazette as the Iris Lady. Many knew her for her giant patch of raspberries at her house in Howard. She was always happiest when she was outside in the garden.
No formal services will be held at this time.
