Nancy Keckhaver (Belle) found peace on Friday, December 24th at the age of 85. In 2017, Nancy became a resident at Tender Hearts. In November Nancy tested positive for Covid and rapidly declined under the special care of Heartland Hospice.
Nancy married the late Ralph Keckhaver-Esler in June 1954. She attended West High School and worked in the meat department of Sure Way, later to be known as Jubilee. Nancy also worked in partnership in two businesses, Poodle Haven Kennel and Ceramics by Jo with her business partner and long term partner in life JoAnn VerDoot. Before retiring at the age of 75, Nancy worked part time for both Muscular Dystrophy and then the March of Dimes in telemarketing.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lori Metoxen; two grandsons, Joel and Damon Metoxen; one granddaughter, Amy (Luke) Wozniak; great-grandchildren, Knox and Rebel.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla Keckhaver; and brother, Felix "Phil" Belle.
Nancy's family will be holding a private celebration of life service in the spring of 2022 and burial will take place at Fort Howard Cemetery. In honor of Nancy, please make donations to UWGB Pride Center-LBGTQ or a local animal shelter.
