Norene Phelan

Norene Ann Phelan, 79, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023 with her three daughters by her side after a brief illness.

Norene was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 17, 1944 to Irene(O'Hara) and George Hillman. She worked for Good Humor Ice Cream where she met her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Phelan. They were married on September 21, 1974 and settled in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. They completed their family over the next few years with the births of their three beautiful daughters.

Norene loved to read and was a fantastic cook. She opened her home to many of her girls friends over the years and was always ready with a meal or snack for them. She loved to spend time with her family and adored her two grandsons and all their exciting stories! Norene was always volunteering for her church or girls school and took pride in being a dedicated parent. She had an infectious laugh that could make anyone smile. She will be missed everyday!

Norene is survived by her three daughters Colleen(Corey), Tracy(Dave), Jackie and cherished grandsons Ben and George. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents and in-laws. She is further survived by her sister in-laws, brother in-laws, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Aurora Hospital for the loving care you all showed for our mother and family over the last few weeks.

The family will hold a private remembrance per our mother's final wishes.
