Orville “Orv” Dennis Bonk, 78, of Abrams, WI peacefully passed away on March 29th, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
He was born on February 13, 1946 to Frank and Victoria Bonk in Green Bay, WI.
Orv lived a simple life. He grew up on the Bonk homestead in Abrams, taking the lead role after his father passed from a farming tractor accident when he was 16. Farming was in Orv’s blood. Later in life he worked for others including Scott Paper, Sievert Excavating, Hugo Trucking, and drove semi for local farms; he also had his own business, Orv’s Excavating. He continued to crop a smaller parcel on the homestead property. His passion later in life was dancing, Country and Ballroom. Since the late 80’s, Orv was making his marks on the dance floor. People knew him with his joking, kidding, exciting personality and lively conversations. He was involved with the dance groups from around the area like North Country Kickers – Equity Hall in Pound, Western Dance Club - Elks Lodge #259 in Green Bay & the Green Bay Community Church ballroom group – Green Bay.
Orv is survived by his daughter, Shelly, & older brother, LeRoy (Judy) Bonk, Nephews David (Sara) Bonk, Lisa (Robert) Sheets, & five great nieces and nephews.
Orv was proceeded in death by his parents, Frank Bonk & Victoria (Slavek) Bonk.
A special thank you to all the 8th floor nursing staff, doctor and many friends/family that visited him while at St Vincent.
A Celebration of Life (Country Music) will be held at the Elks Lodge, 3195 S. Ridge Road, Green Bay, WI on Friday, April 19th, 7-10pm.
