P.J. Thomas, 71, Allouez, died on March 31, 2015. Born on August 30, 1943, in Bridgeport, CT, she is the daughter of the late Betty J. Roberts and Samuel T. Powell, Jr. P.J. attended Haddonfield Memorial High School, Haddonfield, NJ, and Harcum College, Bryn Mawr, PA. On July 31, 1984, she married her dearest love, William Andrew Thomas, Jr. in Columbus, GA.
P.J. treasured her membership in Chapters EN, AU, and MR, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and found enjoyment as the Registrar of Jean Nicolet Chapter, SNDAR; Belle Boyd Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Iron Brigade Chapter, Daughters of the Union; Dames of the Court of Honor. She was an integral part of her beloved book club for more than 15 years. Over the years, P.J. served on various volunteer committees and boards in the Green Bay area.
P.J. was a devoted wife to her dearest Bill; she is also survived by her three children: Kristen J. Doddo (Michael) Dickson, TN, David B. Hall (Carmen) Green Bay, WI, and Kara E. Harpham (Scott) Lowesville, VA; four stepchildren: Diane T. Smith (Emmett), Roanoke, VA, Teri T. Anderson (Keith), Milton, WV, Lisa T. Lambert (Thomas), Moneta, VA and William A. Thomas, III, New York, NY; her adored grandchildren: Kourtney, Hailey and Gavin; Kathleen, Justin and Madison; Andrea; five step grandchildren: Thomas, Melissa; Samuel; Patrick, Brynn; great grandchildren: Tenner and Brighton. She is further survived by her brothers: Samuel T. Powell, III, (Merle), John R. Powell (Jana); brothers and sisters-in-law: Carol T. Finch (Richard), Janet T. Crosman (Christopher), Richard M. Thomas (Audry), Albert Thomas; nieces, nephews and incredibly wonderful friends and sweet dogs Simon and Chester.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-great grandson, Tyler.
Friends are invited to celebrate P.J.’s life May 15, 2015, at the Heritage Hill, with a memorial service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tricia Matthew at 5:30 p.m. Reception to follow until 7:30 p.m.
P.J. will be sadly missed by all who knew her. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. May she rest in peace.
