Patricia (Pat) Wayte

Patricia (Pat) I. Wayte, passed away September 24, 2023. She was born September 27, 1945 in Wausau, WI, daughter to the late Gladys and John Schmitt. After high school she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Naval Investigative Offices. She met and married William (Bill) Wayte on December 3, 1966 and were married for 54 years.

Pat belonged to First United Church of Christ where she worked as church secretary for 10 years and remained very involved with cookie walks, rummage sales and Friends Who Care.

She loved to travel, provide help to those in need, and enjoyed baking, was outgoing, and very independent. Pat loved and cared deeply for all the people she knew--neighbors, friends, and especially family.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Matt) Wayte; sister, Geri (Mike) Lenzner; her other daughter, Penny (Willy) Roberts; and other family members including brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her fuzzy grandbabies, Diesel and Jasper.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Wayte, Sr.; son, William (Bill) Wayte, Jr.; parents, Gladys and Norman Steinbach and John (Jack) Schmitt; and her sister, Jaqueline (Jackie) Schmitt.

Family and friends may visit Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason, on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Gross officiating.
