Patricia Ophelia (Maus) Van Donsel, 88, of Green Bay, passed away June 14, 2021 from complications of kidney failure. She was born October 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Platkowski) Maus. Patricia grew up in the Green Bay area, graduated from West High School in 1950, and then went to work at Northern Paper Mills as a bookkeeper where she met the love of her life, Merlyn Van Donsel, marrying him in 1953. The couple had six children and raised them in the Green Bay area. Merlyn preceded her in death in 1988. Patricia was a full time homemaker most of her life, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and reading. She was an active 4-H Leader and Boy Scout and Brownie Troup mother. Once her youngest child was in high school, Patricia went to work for Kohl’s Department Store, and then Morley Murphy Company. She was an active volunteer at St. Willebrord’s Church in Green Bay, singing in the choir and serving on church committees, and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for many years.
Patricia is survived by five of her children: daughters, Faith Beam, Sobieski; Pamela Greenberg, Green Bay; sons, Keith (Heidi) Van Donsel, Luxemburg; Chad (Renee) Van Donsel, Luxemburg; Tim Van Donsel, Maribel; siblings Gary (Charlene) Maus, Darlene (Mark) Sconzert, Sharon (Spence) Lindner, Glenn (Judy) Maus; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlyn; daughter, Lisa Van Donsel; son-in-law, Lester Beam; siblings, Dolores (Clarence) Jeanquart, Rosemary (Leo) Diederich, Gordon (Viola) Maus, Marlene Cossey, Sister Mary Arthur; parents-in-law, Henry and Genevieve Van Donsel; brother-in-law, Alden Van Donsel.
A funeral mass for Patricia will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. Willebrord Catholic Church (209 S. Adams St). Fr. Andy Cribben will be the officiant. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts, the family requests donations be made in Patricia’s name to St. Vincent de Paul and Paul’s Pantry.
