Pennie Marie Linden, 77, passed away on April 9th, 2025, at Green Bay Health Services after enduring numerous battles with her health. Born on October 30, 1947, in Escanaba, she attended Escanaba Schools, graduating in 1966. Pennie settled in Green Bay in 1998 and was employed with Shopko.
Pennie, daughter of the late Mayor Cecil B. and Leila Chase (Derby), came from a family of eight. Pennie was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her childhood memories were filled with fond recollections of playing under the desk during council meetings, participating in family gatherings, listening to country and oldies music, and loving the days spent on Lake Michigan, swimming or ice skating.
Pennie’s passions extended beyond her family life. She was an avid collector of nick-knacks, a talented painter of Artex pictures, and an award-winning bowler. In her later years, her extensive movie collection, particularly Disney films, held a special place in her heart, evoking a flood of nostalgic memories.
Pennie was a proud parent of four sons: Ed (Susie), Aaron, Chris, and Chad (Craig). Her grandchildren Zakkary, Zowie, and Lily continue to carry on all their grandparents’ memories.
Please join us to celebrate and honor Pennie M. Linden at Blessed Hope Baptist Church on May 17th starting at 11 a.m., with a lunch to follow at 12.
Pennie’s life was a testament to her unwavering strength and determination in overcoming challenges. She will be laid to rest in Escanaba, a place that held a special place in her heart.
