Ralph "Grandpa" Alford
June 28, 1937 — August 29, 2015
Ralph “Grandpa” Alford, 78, St. Nazianz, WI, formerly of Kankakee, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 29, 2015, at home surrounded by family. Born June 28, 1937, in southern Illinois, he is the son of the late Harry and Aline Alford. He was a proud employee of Kankakee Electric Steel for many years. Ralph will be remembered for his love of horses, but most importantly, his family.
Ralph is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Chris and Jaye Alford of St. Nazainz; two grandsons, Cory and Cody; brothers, Virgil and Jack of New Mexico, Roger and Russell of Illinois; sisters, Helen Martin, Agnes Stokes, and Glenda Tippie, all of Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Darryl, George and Wayne Alford; and one sister, Dorothy Favors.
Private family services will be held at a future date.
Ralph’s family extends a special thank you to the caring staff of Aurora at Home Hospice; as well as our adopted family, Ken and Jen.
