Richard “Dick” Behrendt, 77, passed away at home with his wife by his side on July 1, 2018.
Dick was born June 19, 1941, to Bud and Louise Behrendt in Green Bay, WI. He married Mary Hagens in 1961 and a 56 year love and friendship was born.
Dick worked at Fort Howard for 37 years, retiring in 1998. Next came an 18 year RV adventure with his wife and a big white dog Jake, exploring 49 states. When not cruising the country, Dick loved “hunting” with his crew, exploring Buffalo and Florence counties with his son, and barbecuing steaks and wings for his family. He was a fun loving, and kind man to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary; son, Bill (Debbie) Behrendt; daughter, Marnie (Amber) Behrendt; four grandchildren, Jessi (Josh) Behrendt, Samantha (Ron) Lealiou, Joce Glanner and Quentin Glanner; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aria, Finnigan, Oliver, Inara; one brother, Dave (Kay) Behrendt; four nieces; a nephew; and his faithful Golden, Lucas.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy; and a son, Jim.
Dick’s family will be holding a private celebration of his life at a later date.
Those who wish to honor Dick are invited to make a donation in his name to a veteran organization of their choice.
