Robert Edward Marks, 76, Spring Lake, passed away at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center of Neenah on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife, children and family members.
Bob was born on Nov. 30, 1939 in Berlin, the son of the late Alvin Marks and Evelyn (Wade) Marks. On May 1, 1959 he was married to Judith Ann Peters, and last spring celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary.
Bob was a “Doer” and took great pride in everything he pursued.
He was a member of the National Guard and Army Reserve; DNR-Fish Management; Self-employed in Plumbing and Heating; a carpenter with Waushara Home Building Center (WHBC) and retired on April 1, 2006. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma, and was active in the Orphan Grain Train mission.
Bob was also an “Avid” pilot and pursued a lifelong dream to build and fly his own airplane. His plane was finished in 2002and he earned his Sport Pilot and Maintenance Licenses soon after. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) since 1988, as well as the Wautoma Chapter, and was a big part of the “Gang” at Woodtick Airport near Neshkoro. He was a mentor to many there, and a friend to all.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judith; sons, William and Michele, Redgranite, Robert and Patty, Spring Lake and daughter, Cheryl Ross, Sheboygan; grandchildren, Kristina (Marks) Stevens, Justin Marks, Sean Marks, Allison Ross, Johnny Ross, and Luke Nault; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Jerry, Issak, Christopher, Lilly, Rylan, Leandra, Taveon, A.J., Joshua, Matthew, and Skylyn; brothers, Lester Shruck, Markesan, Gordon Shruck, Redgranite, and Alan Shruck, Wautoma; in-laws, Carl and Darlene Peters, Fremont, Norman and Jeanette Peters, Neenah, Bonnie Goodnature, LaCrosse, Larry Peters, Houston, TX, and Lynn and Debbie Peters, Spring Lake; 1st cousins, Arlon, Gordon, Russell, Janet, Marlin, Mary Ellen, Becky, Ames, Randy, Scott, and Dennis.
He is further survived by hundreds of other relatives, friends, neighbors and acquaintances.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and cousin, Jerry Wade.
Bob was a man that loved his family and would reach out and help anybody that needed it.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16th, at 11am at Hope Lutheran Church, 301 Mt. Morris Ave., Wautoma, with Pastor Bob Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30am until the time of the service at church.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer on the airstrip at the Greg Klemps Airport near Neshkoro.
