Romona Sue Rysewyk, 62, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, with her loving husband Richard by her side. Romona was born March 13, 1958 in Anchorage, AK to Paul and Emma (Endresen) Gundersen. She attended grade school in Nelson Lagoon, AK and Clark High school in Anchorage, AK.
Romona and her sister Kathy ran their own commercial Salmon fishing site in Nelson Lagoon for many years. This is also where she met the love of her life and future husband Richard. They both had a passion for fishing and the beautiful Alaskan wilderness. Romona and Richard were married on October, 21, 1983. Along with her love of fishing, she was an avid painter and an excellent cook. Those who loved and knew Romona were blessed with her quick wit and beautiful smile. Romona always made others feel at ease and comfortable in her presence.
Romona is survived by her husband Richard Rysewyk; Three sons Craig(Priscilla) of King Cove, AK, Derrick and Travis of Coleman, WI; Stepdaughter Claudette Brandell of Sheboygan, WI; Step-grandchildren, Carissa, Ashlyn and Shayla; Step-Great grandchildren Maylee, River and Leo. One brother Butch Gundersen and one sister Beverly Gundersen; brother and sister-in-laws; Dennis (Riki), Dale (Trish), Ron (Debbie), Dean (Greg) and Marlene; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Emma Gundersen; a brother, Dale Gundersen; a sister, Kathy (Gundersen) Groves; in laws, Bernard and June Rysewyk.
