Ron was born in Detroit, MI but lived in the Green Bay area most of his life. He was in the tavern business for many years and enjoyed being around his friends, playing backgammon or a game of cribbage.
Ron is most remembered for running a teenage bar called FID'S Green Bay's most distinguished pub in the late 60's, early 70's. Like most people from this area he lived to watch the Packers.
Ron was a 2-time colon cancer survivor and battled leukemia for almost 4 years. Ron George was tough as nails. He will be sadly missed by his one and only son Tony and his mother, along with his many friends and people he met along the way.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Santa Maria Nursing home, who helped Ron in that final moment. And thanks to the staff at the Vince Lombardi cancer center at Aurora hospital, along with his hospice team.
Any expressions of sympathy can be mailed to PO box 501, Green Bay, WI 54305.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
