Roy Kulju, 88, of Green Bay Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2021 with his family by his side.
Roy was born on November 2, 1932 in Champion Michigan as one of 12 children born to Richard and Wilma Kulju.
Roy was employed by Simplex Time and Recorder Company for many years and eventually formed his own company, A & A Time & Security, with Tom Binish.
Roy was a long-time member of the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club, board member, and past president of the organization. He was known for being the life of the party, telling jokes, and being the ultimate “Yooper” (cutting wood, ingenious ways of fixing things, and protecting Bernice’s bird feeders from squirrels). Many of his friends will fondly remember his “Archie” joke and his ability to organize spontaneous parties.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bernice; daughter Kirsten Kulju Gonzalez (Jorge) of Palm City Florida; son Mark (Lori) of Green Bay Wisconsin; grandsons Jon, Jake, Matt (Chase), and Ben; sisters Mavina (John) Etelamaki of Champion Michigan, and Marilyn Brancheau of Republic Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 11AM to Noon, followed by a service at noon at Peace Lutheran Church. Following the service there will be a gathering of family and friends at Townline Banquet Hall.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
