Russell Leiterman passed away on August 3, 2017. Russ was born on April 29th, 1934 in Green Bay Wisconsin, the son of Dorothy Leiterman (nee Peters), and Ervin Leiterman. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1934, and his father in 1985. He lived most of his life in Denmark Wisconsin. Russ had cognitive disabilities from birth, but in many ways was better than most of us at remembering names and memories from his past. Russ was positive in his outlook, and took setbacks in stride. Despite his mother’s death soon after his birth he was surrounded by love from his father Erv, his grandparents Anna and Louis Leiterman, and his stepmother Jane.
Russ liked the Brewers, the Packers, and a good meal anywhere, but especially Perkins.
Russ lived a good life and was the beneficiary of the assistance programs set up by federal and state governments.
Russ is survived by his siblings, Mary Leiterman of Sturgeon Bay; Jan Zimmerman (Steve) of Madison; James Leiterman of Suamico; and Jerome Leiterman (Sharon) of Mercer.
The family will be having a private memorial at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of his residential community home, who cared for Russ with compassion and kindness, and Aspiro an organization that helps people with disabilities.
