Sandra "Sandy" Ann Gavin, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020 due to cancer. She gave cancer one hellava fight. She was born September 11, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Minnie. She married her longtime friend and love, Remi Gavin, in March, 2004, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Sandy loved to see her family happy. She crocheted blankets and had a project going for everyone. Her hands were rarely still. She always loved to learn a new pattern or new stitch. She also had a neverending sweet toothe that rivaled her own mother's. Cookies, cake, cheesecake and cool whip were some of our staple goods to have on hand during our last days with her.
Her life was a living example of a quote from one of her favorite country artists, Keith Urban: “It's all we've been given so you better start living right now, cause days go by.” Since her diagnosis, Sandy understood and knew what she wanted: to live and love life.
