Sandra "Sandy" Sherwood

September 16, 1941 — February 4, 2024

Sandy Sherwood,82, of Green Bay, Wisconsin but originally from Covelo, California passed on February 4th, 2024. Sandy had been battling cancer and was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments.

Sandy was born in San Francisco, California on September 16th, 1941 to her mom Mary (Jackie) Crone (Betts). She achieved her lifelong goal when she went back to school in her 30's. She completed her Bachelors degree at Chico State University and went on to get her Master's in Marriage Family Therapy when she was 43 years young. She married her second and life long husband, William (Bill) Sherwood in the Presbyterian church in Covelo Ca on February 22nd, 1972. They would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary this month.

Sandy spent her early career in Covelo's school system. After she earned her degree she became a therapist at Butte County Drug and Alcohol Services. She then spent the rest of her career in a variety of therapist roles within the Butte County Adult services. When she retired she was a manager of team of therapists in Adult services. Sandy was an artist. She loved to create paintings to jewelry and everything in between. Her craft room was her pride and joy and she would not go to any special occasions without a beautifully hand made card. She also loved spending time tending to her flowers with one of her cherished pets in her tow.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, William; her five children Cece (Ron) Faddler , Tony (Jeanie) Avery, Katrina (Shaun) Simmons, Colette Avery, and Relene (Daniel) Schuettpelz. Sandy had 10 beautiful grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Crone and Jack Crone; her brother John (Rhoda) Crone and her Aunt Mable Brown.

The family would like to thank the Bellin Cancer team and Unity Hospice with the aid in her fight. They allowed her to have "wishful living" based on her desire to fight until the very end.

The family will be holding a celebration of life open house on February 18th, 2024 between 12-2pm at the family home at 3098 Clarence Ct, Green Bay WI 54313.
