Sherman Weinfurter

Sherman Weinfurter, 90, Green Bay, passed away July 27, 2021. Born on May 5, 1931, in Goodman, WI, he is the son of the late Herman and Irene Weinfurter. After graduation from Goodman High School he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served on the USS Missouri and fought in the Korean War. On August 13, 1955, he married Joanne Petryk; she preceded him in death October 24, 1995. At a later date he married Patricia Strachan. Sherman was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing cards with his many friends and watching his Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by Patricia (John) Sturzl-Price, Michael and special friend Amy, Jean and special friend Greg, Thomas (Denise) Weinfurter, and Sharon (David) Kinney; eight grandchildren, Katie (Chad) Jacobs, Tony Sturzl, Lindsey Price, Ryan, Abe, and Stormy Weinfurter, Steven and Matthew Kinney; great granddaughter, Veda Jacobs; sibling, Carma Schaumann and many nieces and nephews.

Sherman was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Joanne and Patricia; sisters, Jackie and MaryAnn.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 Saint Matthews St., Green Bay. Visitation will be held from 9am-11am, with mass and full military honors to follow at 11am.
