Shirley Mae (Rundquist) Mattick, 91, a longtime resident of Green Bay, passed away Sunday October 30th, 2016 from health complications due to a long illness. Shirley was born June 17th, 1925 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Wilbert (Bill) Rundquist and Mabel (Olson) Rundquist. She graduated from East High School in 1943 and then attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she met her future husband Edward F. Mattick. Shirley and Ed were married on January 21st, 1946 in Puerto Rico where Edward was stationed in the United States Navy. They moved to Green Bay in 1947 where they raised their family and lived for almost 70 years.
Shirley was a long time member of the Green Bay Service League, The Green Bay – DePere Antiquarian Society, The Green Bay Garden Club, The Heritage Hill Society, Jobs Daughters International Bethel 32 and the First United Methodist Church of Green Bay.
Shirley is survived by her husband Edward F. Mattick of Green Bay; their three children, Melinda (Ron) Bolm of Kansas City, MO; Lisa Mattick Nichols of Dallas, TX; Michael (Mona) Mattick of Spearfish, SD; her grandchildren Andrew (Lindsey) Nichols of Dallas, TX; Whitney Nichols (Stephen) Hansen of Milwaukee, WI and one great-grandchild Harper Elizabeth Hansen.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Rundquist of Lawrence, KS and her son-in-law Stuart Nichols.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI at a later date.
