In the presence of his daughters, Timothy Gerald Hummel concluded a life well lived on October 18th, 2024. While he will be significantly missed and forever cherished, his daughters find comfort in knowing that he had all the sweetness and love that he could have ever wished for.
Born October 18th, 1961, Tim, the 3rd of three kids, grew up in Wauwatosa, WI. His father and mother, James and Marlyn Hummel (Studner), produced two other beautiful children, (Scott Hummel & Jeffery Hummel). Growing up on Harvey Ave while attending Jr. High at Hawthorne, and despite having been suspended 9 times for smoking, he scored two girlfriends at the same time (lady slayer, I know, right!). Through it all, he was also exceptionally athletic.
During the ages of 12-14, he worked a paper route and became a successful dishwasher at Balistreri's Pizza, where he soon excelled to the head pizza craftsman. Prior to graduating high school in 1980, Tim rapidly became a head chef and discovered his passion for cultivating smiles and delicious culinary creations. Following this success, he treated himself to a nice pool table to place in the center of his living room (I know, right!).
One of his favorite things to do as a kid was to go fishing with his grandpa, dad, and brother, which soon became the hobby that stuck with him for the rest of his life. He was also very proud of his second car, a rusted body, 1970 white Pontiac Firebird with a 400 engine (“FAST SHIT”). It was the fastest car he ever had, which towed his brand new boat all the way up to the Mississippi River. Despite breaking down shortly before reaching his destination, Tim conquered his goal to cast a line on some mighty fish.
Anyone that crossed paths with the sweet sunshine, Tim, knew that his heart was bigger than the world itself. He would have enjoyed being remembered for his contagious smile, giving spirit and courageous soul. With endless love to share, he will now be protecting and guiding his most cherished loved ones forever. Although he is gone from this material we call earth, the legacy he created will last a lifetime through his eternal spirit.
Wise words from Joshua Hummel -
“Life if measured by the way we live,
By the things we hold, the things we give…
By the words we say,
By the cheer we spread,
Along our way…
And most important, Hummel Love!”
Tim’s special clings of life will live through his two daughters and son, Jade (Hummel), Kiana (Robertson) and Avery (Pomasl), along with his high-spirited grandchildren, Scarlett and Sullivan, among many loving and caring friends. Tim is preceded in this stage of his spirit by his son Joshua Hummel, Scott Hummel (brother), Nala Bean (dog), James Hummel (father) and Marlyn Hummel (Studner, mother), and Denise Hummel (sister-in-law) who we know are there to welcome him with open arms at Heaven’s gate.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Angie, Whitney, Amy Jo, and Chelsea at Aurora Hospice for the amazing compassion, support, and care given to not only our Dad but to both daughters during this difficult time. We could not have done it without you.
Dad’s celebration of life will be planned for spring time with an announcement of details to follow. Thank you to all for your condolences, support, and love.
