Tyson Baeten, 37, Green Bay, passed away on October 2, 2022.
Tyson proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he spent time as a semi truck driver, and then worked on Xerox machines before finding his dream job at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary. Tyson started his time at Safe Haven as a dedicated, loving volunteer. He was currently experiencing homelessness due to mental illness, and was looking for a cure for his depression. He quickly found happiness in his time spent with animals. After a cat was stolen from the cat sanctuary, and later returned, he became Safe Haven's official Kitty Bodyguard. His protective yet gentle nature made both the animals and humans feel safe in his presence. He began helping out every day, and eventually worked his way to becoming a manager. He truly loved working with animals, and created a unique bond with each one - especially Zap - his favorite cat. Tyson's presence is greatly missed at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary by the staff and the animals, and in the Green Bay community.
We would like to thank the New Community Shelter for helping Tyson in his time of need, and the Desert Vets of Wisconsin for helping out with funeral arrangement costs. A memorial service will be held at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary on Monday, January 30th from 5-8PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tyson's kitties at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary, the New Community Shelter, or Desert Vets of Wisconsin.
