Wallace Herbert Kasten, 79, New Franken, went home to be with his Savior, on Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2021. Born December 15, 1941, in Maribel, he is the son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Engelbrecht) Kasten. Wally was welcomed into his Lord’s family through the sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Maribel, December 28, 1941 and was confirmed in that same baptismal faith within that same church in Maribel, on March 25, 1956. He later graduated from Denmark High School in 1960 and soon after served faithfully for two and a half years in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return, Wally married Marion Raduenz at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Luxemburg, on November 2, 1963. He was a hard worker serving in the heating and sheet metal industry and owned and operated Kasten Heating of rural Luxemburg for 16 years. Wally and Marion are active members of Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church, Bellevue. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of gardening, woodworking, camping and fishing with his grandsons. Wally served as a strong Christian role model to his entire family and to all who were blessed to have known him.
Wally is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion; four children, Paula (Rick) Simonar, Luxemburg, Amy (John) Bruss, N. Sutton, New Hampshire, Renee (Bob) Christoff, Luxemburg and Kevin (Michelle) Kasten, Luxemburg; grandchildren, Hannah Simonar, Demetrius Simonar, Philip Simonar, Stephanie (Mahmoud) Salimi, Sheldon (Tatiana) Bruss, Marissa (John) Kickbusch, Nicholas Christoff, Tanner Kasten and Logan Kasten; great-grandchildren, Farhad Salimi, Braden Kickbusch, Sophia Kickbusch, Harper Bruss and Rory Bruss; a sister, Gladys Umnus; a brother, Jerome Kasten; further survived by sisters-in-law, Judy Paral, Betty (Ron) Ramesh, Dorothy Roehlig and Karen Bosdeck; brothers-in-law, Jim Schley, Jim (Mary) Raduenz and Mark (Sue) Raduenz.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Kasten; stepmother, Malvina Kasten; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerhardt and Irma Raduenz; infant daughter, Beth Kasten; two sisters-in-law, Linda Prahl and Janet Schley; five brothers-in-law, Merlin Prahl, Wayne Bosdeck, Rein Roehlig, Wayne Paral and Dale Umnus.
Due to Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church, Bellevue and he will be laid to rest in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Maribel. Simply Cremation, Green Bay, is proudly serving the family.
