Wally Baierl

February 11, 1946 — August 27, 2024

Wally "Gator" Baierl, 78, of Oconto Falls, was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born on February 11, 1946, to the late Clarence and Doris (Charlier) Baierl. Wally graduated from Luxemburg High School and went on to join the Navy. He had a passion for farming, and enjoyed a long career in the paper industry. On August 12, 1977, Wally married the love of his life, Rita Bader.

Wally was a family man. He and Rita did everything together, always starting their day with a cup of coffee. Wally and his family did a lot of road trips including Montana, Florida, Tennessee, Vegas, and many more. He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially his long weeks at Wabikon Lake. Where the trusted Bluefin shined. The same Bluefin that came from his Dad and is now with his nephew Kevin. He had the patience of a saint while teaching many generations to fish. He also enjoyed camping at Captain's Cove with many friends that became family. Wally took pride in gardening, wine making, cooking, and raising chickens. He was always cooking something, and he always made it "just for you". He had a love for good chocolate, especially a piece of chocolate cake. Wally was always down for a game of bar room craps.

Wally is survived by his wife, Rita Baierl; his children, Andy (Leslie) Bushmaker, Amy Lance, Brian (Wendy) Bushmaker, Tammy Baierl, Renee (Steve Wickert) Miller; his son-in-law, Jon Miller; his grandchildren, Brett (Emma), Michelle DeJesus, Camrin, Tom (Billianne), Molly (Quinn), Jessica (Carlos), Melissa, Lauren, Tori (Brett), Olivia, Michelle, and Morgan; his great-grandchildren, Ada, Max, Noah, Serenity, Lucy, Amelia Jean, Jonah Patrick, Brayden, Erick, Itzayani, Mariana, Lonnie, Carter, Hope, and Adalyah; his siblings, Pat (Chris) Baierl, Jeanne (Jim) De Groot, and Bonnie (Glen) Willems; his sister-in-laws, Kathy Baierl, Dianne Baierl, Shirley Baierl, and Chris Stahl; and many brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews.
