William Clarence Kispert rode off into the sunset on May 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Winnemuca, Nevada on October 23, 1951, he lived and grew up in Green Bay. He was deeply in love with his beautiful and talented wife, Linda, and greatly loved his two amazing and caring children, lovely daughter-in-law and three wonderful and wily granddaughters. He loved his loving mother, his stellar and saucy siblings, the other in-laws and family (both past and present). His array of friends covered a full spectrum of colorful personalities that enriched his life—most of the time.
William fervently believed in communication (listening as much as talking), truth and justice—that love conquers all, with hope, honesty, generosity, empathy, bittersweet perseverance, common sense and uncommon valor, wonder and humor. He loved swimming, nature, birds, blooms, music, film, poetry, painting, the written word, tennis, football, good food & drink and the delight of children.
Billy found beauty nearly everywhere. He was never outworked, and he always played well with others. He swore by the tenet that the pen is mightier than the sword—and wielded it well. In his own words:
“I’ve been blessed to have all my senses
Even had a sixth one in happenstance
I’ve been lucky to have lived this long
Took my chances, made my way
No matter the circumstance.
I could be wrong about the whole kit & kaboodle.
It could be a shameless plug. I’m just taking my bows,
my curtain call—a flickering light in a darkened hall.”
—Peace and Love to you all—That’s a wrap!
