William Cornelius "Boola" Smits

William Cornelius "Boola" Smits, 71, passed away on November 3, 2024, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Born on May 31, 1953, in De Pere, Wisconsin, he was a beloved figure in his community.

William's early education took place at St. Boniface and he later graduated from Abbott Pennings High School. His career included twelve years at Mason Red Owl, ten years with Salerno Cookie Company, and twenty-eight years with Super Valu. His work ethic and dedication were deeply admired by his colleagues.

Beyond his professional life, William was an avid golfer and took great pride in serving as president of the men's club, where he made many lifelong friends and greatly improved the community aspect of the club.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Bette and William Smits, and his sister, Jean Ann Faltynski. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Smits, and their children: Sara (Clint) Keeney, William (Krystle) Smits, and Brenda Smits. William leaves behind a legacy through his five grandchildren: Jack, Claire, and Pearl Keeney and Elsie and Sienna Smits. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Willems.

William "Boola" Smits will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of food, and warm spirit. His presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St Agnes Drive, Green Bay, WI.
