Winifred A. Ervin, 84, Two Rivers, Wis., died on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care, formerly known as Hamilton Nursing Home in Two Rivers. Wink was born July 16, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana, daughter of the late Edmond & Marian Eutha (Nichols) Wright. She attended school and graduated in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In1953 Wink married Marvin F. Powell in Los Angeles, CA. Together they had one daughter, Karen L. Powell of Tarzana, California; two sons, Robert M. (Gloria) Powell Simi Valley, California and Richard A. (Robin) Powell, Two Rivers. In 1971 Wink married her second husband Donald D. Ervin in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived in Los Angeles until they moved to Susanville, CA in 1976. There she worked as a legal secretary for Lassen County Legal Council for 11 years. In 1987, she and Don relocated to Bullhead City, AZ and then Laughlin, NV. She worked there for the Ramada Express as a secretary in the main office until she retired in 2008. After retirement she volunteered and spent time with friends in the area until she moved to Two Rivers in 2014. Wink enjoyed games, puzzles, and bingo as well as being an avid reader. Since moving to Wisconsin she became a huge Aaron Rogers and Green Bay Packers fan. She laughed, was full of wit and had many friends wherever she lived. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her three children: Karen L. Powell, Robert M. (Gloria) Powell, both of California, and Richard A. (Robin) Powell, Two Rivers; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Powell, Two Rivers, David (Sarah) Powell, Manitowoc, Steven (Katreena) Powell, Two Rivers, Nadine (Powell) (Allen) Ford, Jacksonville, AR, Colin Powell, USMC, Genna (Greg) Powell, and Robin Powell, both of California; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Ervin; brother, Allen Wright; mother and father, Edmond and Marian Eutha (Nichols) Wright; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, February 15, 2016, from 5 – 7 p.m., at Hope Community Church, corner of Hwy 310 & B. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Simply Cremation assisted the family with cremation services, (920) 431-0100.
